About Our Founder
Ekaete Bailey, Managing Director and Founder
An artist who has always loved artistic expression, stories and the power of art, Ms. Bailey has combined her passion for people, social impact and business into Butterfly Chief Films, LLC.
From administrative assistant to assistant vice president to director in corporate roles, Ekaete transitioned from the worlds of finance and government contracting to the creative business of filmmaking, poetry and coaching. An influencer by nature, Ekaete collaborates with business leaders, educators, producers, artists, poets, business owners and the curious to foster a community of belonging where cultural humility is practiced, and social impact is the goal.
Ekaete is committed to giving back. She served for three years on the board of International Child Advancement, empowering orphans and underserved to become self-sufficient. She is also a board member of Youth in the Center (YITC), an organization serving to empower and mentor at risk youth. She is proud mother and wife, and the adoptive mom of a precocious rescue dog named Roxi.
As the Managing Director and Founder of Butterfly Chief Films, LLC., Ekaete is responsible for the executive leadership, and creative direction of the firm along with the finance development of company projects.

What Do We Do?
Butterfly Chief Films is a creative hub and catalyst for uniting development, pre-production, production, post-production, marketing and distribution together for filmmakers within our partner circle. We leverage our story-sharing model in our production of personalized poetry, our story-sharing Substack platform and executive and team coaching.

Why "Butterfly Chief"
Our company name is a combination of titles and affectionate nicknames woven into a didactic nomenclature representing the work we do.
To put it simply - they represent names, vision, and direction given to our Managing Director and Founder.
Our Homebase
We are a mobile film studio, with the capacity to create and support films in any area we choose, and our home base is the beautiful Buffalo, New York. Buffalo is a historic city boasting miles of natural waterfront and architectural landmarks. Buffalo is extremely hospitable to filming and has a close proximity to Niagara Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
